Scripture: Not that I have already obtained this or have already reached the goal; *13 but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Beloved, I do not consider that I have made it my own;but this one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on towards the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus. Let those of us then who are mature be of the same mind; and if you think differently about anything, this too God will reveal to you. Only let us hold fast to what we have attained.
Observation: Determination; striving; and focusing upon "this one thing I do...".
Application: To more sharply focus what are the important areas of life that focus more upon the one thing in this moment we are called by God to do.
Prayer: Lord God, thank you for adopting me as your own. Now,may I forget what lies behind and strain forward to what lies ahead. May I press toward that one thing for this and each moment you have called me to do for you. Amen.
Yield: Press on toward whom God has made you to become.
